Spring Trip (M1s)
Dates: February 18, 2017 – February 26, 2017
The M1 trip to Nicaragua will be coordinated through Bridges to Community, an international not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to improving lives in communities throughout the world. Students will travel out of Managua to the village of Siuna, Nicaragua where they will stay in volunteer dorms provided by the organization. Clinics will be run each day by students working closely with WSU physicians, fourth year medical students, as well as staff members of Bridges to Community. Students will also conduct public health workshops and spend time working on a project in the community, giving them a chance to gain a better understanding of the patients they are seeing in clinic. Students will work with physicians from WSUSOM, Tufts, Dartmouth, and University of Nevada.
